Our K-Sim simulators range from full-scale bridge simulators with realistic features, to cloud-based training to enable engaging exercises anytime and anywhere.
We are now looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Radar Systems to join our maritime simulation team (K-Sim). This role focuses on maintaining and improving existing radar generators and interfaces tailored for maritime applications, while also leading the development of a next-generation GPU-based radar generator using Unreal Engine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the current radar generator codebase, which includes CPU-based sweeps and C++ integrations with real-world radar equipment.
- Collaborate with the outgoing radar expert to ensure a smooth knowledge transfer and operational continuity.
- Spearhead the design and implementation of a new GPU-based radar generator using Unreal Engine for enhanced simulation capabilities.
- Ensure the radar systems integrate seamlessly with maritime simulators and provide realistic maritime radar scenarios.
- Optimize radar performance to meet the high standards of our simulator.
- Apply radar domain expertise to simulate maritime navigation, vessel detection, and environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hydrodynamics, 3D modeling, and software engineering experts, to deliver high-fidelity simulation solutions.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience:
- Extensive experience in C++ programming.
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine (or similar like Unity) for GPU-based rendering and simulation.
- Good knowledge of 3D programming and graphics pipeline concepts.
- Deep understanding of radar systems and maritime simulation requirements.
- Familiarity with C# for integration with simulation platforms.
- Skills:
- Expertise in maritime radar principles, including signal processing, radar systems, and environmental modeling.
- Ability to debug, optimize, and enhance complex software systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
