Procurement Manager
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to further strengthen our team. The position is part of the IT department and reports to Vice President IT. The IT department is responsible for delivering all IT services to the organization, connected to software and hardware solutions, software asset management, user preferences, and security best practices. They provide recommendations for continuous improvement by leveraging technology to enhance productivity, ensure system reliability, and drive overall success. The Procurement Manager will conduct procurement services across the entire company.
Your main responsibility will be nothing short of extraordinary:
- Prepare, coordinate, and drive procurement initiatives, providing proactive, high-value procurement and contract negotiation consultation through a thorough understanding of the business needs.
- Manage and streamline communication with internal stakeholders, clarify risks and challenges, and drive the group towards a decision according to plan and decided tasks.
- Manage the tools required to capture and analyse relevant data and information and streamline communication with internal stakeholders through a system where everyone can access all information.
- Deliver best-in-class technology products and services with the right balance of cost control, risk mitigation and speed.
- Lead the negotiation strategy and negotiations for IT contracts.
- Own the communication with suppliers involved in the bids to fulfil the Procurement Directive and ensure commercial results.
- Serve as a point of escalation for vendor issues and disputes and drive those issues to resolution.
- Lead the evaluation of optimal sourcing and pricing options, taking into consideration outsourcing/cloud, hybrid, and insourcing models.
Having a background and experience in the field would be incredibly valuable:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain, information technology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience, skills, training, and education, with six or more years in IT procurement and vendor management, including at least four years as an IT sourcing or category manager.
- Previous experience working in a global environment.
- Experience in evaluating support agreements and the yearly true-up and demand management requirements.
- Extensive experience with software agreements, their structure, and important elements.
- Current knowledge of the global IT product and service market and trends.
- Confident in representing the organization in negotiations with vendors and comfortable in addressing strategic vendor relationships, developing strategies to reduce overall cost or risk.
- Understanding of IT asset management.
- Legal experience, with a background in IT contracts, is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Norwegian.
