What You’ll Do
Kongsberg Digital is seeking a skilled and motivated Sr. Software Engineer experienced with web and/or mobile development to join the Product Integration Delivery team. This role is responsible for customizing, configuring, and deploying Kongsberg Digital's next-generation SaaS based KogniTwin platform and Simulation product offerings to meet the specific needs of our customers. This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role requiring strong development skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. The Sr. Software Engineer will work closely with customers, project/product managers, solutions architects, and other members of the Product Integration team across time zones to deliver solutions based on Kongsberg Digital's standard products.
This role reports to the Director, Product Integration.
We are considering local candidates from Houston only.
This new hire will work within a highly competent agile team, writing the code that will bring their customers and business partners’ assets and facilities to life on the real-time digital twin technology. Customer-facing and communication skills are important to be successful in this role. Most meetings will be facilitated by the project leaders, and the Sr. Software Engineer will be responsible for technical solutions to our customer product integration needs. The technology stack is JavaScript, Typescript, Angular, NodeJS, NoSQL database and Azure Cloud.
Job Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
Technical Skills:
• 6-10 years of professional software development experience.
• Exceptional hands-on software development skills working with any of the technologies including C#, C++, ASP.Net, JavaScript, TypeScript or AngularJS.
• Single Page Web development experience in JavaScript, Typescript, Angular and NodeJS.
• Backend JavaScript experience working with NodeJS.
• Database skills in MongoDB and Influx DB is a plus.
• Kubernetes experience in automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications is a plus
• Experience building 2D or 3D visualization and utilizing WebGL is a plus.
• Experience with document parsing is a plus.
• Experience with SAP or any ERP integration projects is desired.
• Oil and Gas experience is desired but not a must.
• Cloud experience in MS Azure developing and deploying services.
Soft Skills:
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Customer facing skills – must be comfortable in participating in MS Teams or on-site meetings with technical and non-technical customers.
Responsibilities:
• Understanding and analyzing project requirements and translating them into specifications and product integration deliverables for a customer engagement.
• Provide technical representation for the delivery teams during the customer meetings.
• Working closely with Analysts, Designers, Product Managers and clients to develop new products by recognizing new requirements as well as to enhance existing applications.
• Developing, testing and debugging the product in controlled and real situations.
• Continuously learn and improve skills.
• Attention to detail is essential and all tasks must be carried out to the highest standard.
• Produce well-organized, optimized, and documented source code.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed nationally and internationally.
Work Schedule:
• This position is a Hybrid role.
• Candidates will need to be in Houston or surrounding suburbs within Texas.
• Candidates will be required to come to the office 2-3 times a week and for the general office meetings.
