Technical Advisor
Responsible for direct design and integration of new rig and enterprise central systems based on customer requirements. Provide technical project management for new projects such as real-time drilling optimization centers, real-time collaboration centers, etc. Design and integrate Enterprise architecture for hosted cloud environments for Real-time (RT) drilling data. Responsible for integration of WITSML data providers with enterprise-type environments. Provide maintenance of infrastructure for hosted customers enterprise systems. Identify and propose any improvements related to procedures, working methods and tools. Product knowledge transfer to customers' real-time operations teams. Create support and maintenance processes based on each customer's requirements.
Standardize pre- and post- verification processes for new customers deployments (Rig, Central, Enterprise). Test new releases before implementation on customers' production systems. Design and implement performance tests for Rig and Enterprise systems. Create and perform demos of real-time data management and collaboration systems.
Provide advice on integration with authentication systems and F5/BigIP configuration for centralized servers. Provide training to end users covering WITSML-based data aggregation and visualization software. Work closely with customers in LATAM to gather feedback and communicate this to software development team and project managers to deliver best-in class solutions for real-time drilling operation. Travel to customer locations to provide on-site services, such as system installation and configuration, advanced support, and training.
Work closely with Project Managers through the complete project life cycle (planning/execution/closure). Participate in the software delivery management team when required. Perform real-time adjustment or modifications to the operation as required to optimize results, meet alternative customer expectations, or respond to unanticipated conditions or changes during the operation. Make recommendations to management concerning staff and improvement of procedures. Resolve complaints and answer questions from customers regarding services and procedures. Evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations pertaining to the improvement of product maintenance, product design and operational performance. Serve as technical escalation point for Tier 2 subject matter expert, provide advanced analysis, and offer resolutions for most challenging issues. Represent the company in conferences with customers, consulting engineers, contractors and vendors. Perform field service assignments by adapting to varying conditions at customer facilities while operating within estimated resources and ensuring quality. Communicate effectively orally and in written form.
Prepare review documentation in a legible and understandable manner. Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for completing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualifications and Experience
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study
Experience Requirements: Five (5) years’ experience in oil and gas, real-time data management, and customer support experience.
Special Requirements: Must understand and speak Spanish.
Travel Requirements: 20% Domestic and 40% International travel required.
