Join Us as an Engineering Manager

Are you passionate about developing people as much as building great products? Kongsberg Digital, we’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and inspire a department of approximately 25 –30 highly skilled software engineers – juniors and seniors. This is a pivotal role that blends technical leadership with people management, offering you the opportunity to cultivate a high-performance culture, drive professional growth, and ensure the successful delivery of impactful products.

We operate with a matrix organization and as an Engineering Manager, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and product management to strategically allocate engineering resources where they’re needed most. You’ll be responsible for not only sourcing and developing the right talent but also fostering an inclusive and rewarding work environment where engineers thrive—both professionally and personally.

You have…

• Relevant degree and a proven track record of at least 5 years as a people leader within a software development environment.

• Strong understanding of software development processes and

methodologies.

• Experience with performance management and employee development.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.

• Robust and able to handle difficult conversations while creating psychological

safety.

• Ability to provide honest and balanced feedback.

• Be a good representative of the company leadership, and be able to balance a

good relationship with the employees while simultaneously looking after the

company's best interests

This role will be based in our HQ in Lysaker, Oslo, and will report to the VP of Engineering.
